The main reason that Daniel Sturridge is in this list is due to the way that Liverpool have started the season. I think most of us would have to agree that the Reds have performed at a higher level than we would have expected. One of the reasons we didn't predict such good early performance was due to the fact that Luis Suarez was banned at the start of the season. There is no doubt that Suarez is one of the best strikers in the Premier League as he has proved over recent weeks. Therefore, many of us could be forgiven for thinking that Liverpool would start slowly, but in actual fact they were one of the early pacesetters. Even now, they look in a very good place to put up a serious challenge for a top four place. Sturridge has been superb with nine goals from the 11 games that he has played so far, injury has hit since then. However, when he returns it's likely he will be able to get back to where he was prior to being forced out for a spell. The other thing is that perception has now changed; many will now be seeing him as a credible partner for Suarez rather than a player that is merely there to provide cover. If Sturridge can get back to scoring then that will also be good news for England with the World Cup just around the corner.
