Even though Newcastle's policy towards "ageing" players may be an extremely frustrating one there is no getting away from the fact that, having celebrated his 30th birthday on June 3rd, Papiss Cisse is no spring chicken anymore. Steve McClaren and the Newcastle staff want a striker who they can build the team around for the next few years, and Cisse's age means he is unlikely to be that man. Rather than try and eke another season out of him, it might be best for Newcastle if they let Cisse go this summer and make sure they replace him immediately. The time to act could be now.
