4. Carlo Ancelotti Gave Him His Debut For AC Milan
Darmian is a product of the AC Milan youth academy and was given his debut for the Rossoneri in 2006 by former Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti. Aged just 16 he struggled to make the transition from youth team captain to first team regular and his opportunities at the San Siro were limited. Following a season on loan at Padova in 2009, then joined Palermo for a fee of 800,000 where he would only manage 11 appearances due a string of injury problems. Darmian then made the move to Torino on loan before the Italian club paid 825,000 for co-ownership of the player and after a successful season paid a further 1.5million for the remainder of his contract from Palermo. He then became a first team regular and earned his first international call up for the Italian national side.
