5. Sheffield United Bag That First Home Win
There was a sense of euphoria when Blades' hero Billy Sharp scored that 88th minute equaliser against Bournemouth last weekend. Sheffield United fans believed they might be in for quite the ride after that, and they're right. On Sunday, Chris Wilder's team proved they're more than just scrappy away draw merchants though.
His approach was bang on; Wilder set his team out to huddle behind the ball and be hard to break down without sacrificing any threat on the break. That was something Crystal Palace couldn't deal with, and it's no wonder Roy Hodgson was so cheesed off afterwards. 'Woy' is worried, and perhaps rightfully so.
Wilder trumped him tactically at Bramall Lane. Crucially, he stopped Palace star Wilfried Zaha too.
Securing that first home win is bigger for Sheffield than some might think. The current plights of other sides like Aston Villa and West Ham are proof that nothing is guaranteed in this league. Securing four points out of a possible six to start the season represents a blistering opening fortnight for Wilder and company.
