Arsenal Transfer News: £11.8 million Bid For Jesus Navas
Arsenal FC are preparing to launch an £11.8 million bid for Sevilla winger Jesus Navas.
AS, Arsenal FC are preparing to launch an £11.8 million bid for Sevilla winger Jesus Navas. The 26-year-old Spanish international is being viewed as a replacement for Arsenal's Theo Walcott, who is rumoured to be leaving the Emirates this summer or once his contract runs out on July 2013. Navas has played for Spanish club Sevilla since the start of his career and has regularly been involved in the Spanish international squad. Navas would give new life to the Arsenal team after proving to be a key player at his current club where he has played 350 games, scoring 33 goals and assisting 73. Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is valuing the player at around £12 million, although it is unclear whether Sevilla will request more or if they actually want to agree a deal for their number 7 or not. Arsenal have already lost Robin van Perise and Alex Song this season and despite bringing in Lukas Podolski, Olivier Giroud and Santi Cazorla, the club still feel they could benefit from a player such as Jesus Navas. Its uncertain on whether the club would need the services of the Spaniard, with the club already having Gervinho, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Theo Walcott and Andrei Arshavin competing for the position.
