Arsenal Transfers: 10 Worst Arsene Wenger Signings Ever

10. Nicklas Bendtner

Every footballer needs to have a certain amount of confidence about them; a bit of swagger on the pitch that strikes fear in opponents and lets everyone know you're one of the best in the world. But you have to back it up too, which is something Nicklas Bendtner never quite did for Arsenal.

Sure, the 27-year-old Dane had a few memorable moments - his first Premier League goal for the Gunners came against Spurs, after all - but besides that, most fans remember him for the goals he missed, drunken scandals involving cab drivers and strange statements he made that either screamed of overwhelming arrogance or sheer stupidity.

"I want to be top scorer in the Premier League, top scorer at the World Cup, and within five years, I want to be among the best strikers in the world. Trust me, it will happen," said the Denmark international.

Inevitably, it never quite worked out that way for 'Lord Bendtner', who left the Gunners at the end of the 2013/14 season to prove his worth at Bundesliga club Wolfsburg where he continued to be more of a gimmick than an elite striker.
