Arsenal Transfers: 5 Goalkeepers To Replace Fabianski

2. Steve Mandanda

Since joining Marseille in 2007, Steve Mandanda has gone on to make 250 appearances for the club. He has become synonymous with L€™OM and played a key role in their Ligue 1 triumph during the 2009/2010 season. A two-time winner of the Ligue 1 Goalkeeper of the Year and capped 16 times by France, Mandanda would undoubtedly add quality to the Arsenal ranks. While he may not be the biggest goalkeeper, Mandanda€™s reflexes make him a sought after commodity for many of Europe€™s top sides. At 29 years of age, Mandanda has bags of experience, knowledge that he could no doubt part to Szczesny. The Frenchman would make a perfect number two, putting pressure on Szczesny to maintain his form, whilst also offering the Gunners with a top quality goalkeeper to use in cup competitions and against weaker opposition. Mandanda has already been ruled out of this summer€™s World Cup in Brazil with neck injury, meaning there is no rush to concluded the transfer. Marcelo Bielsa has recently taken charge at Marseille and the Chilean will have a large say on where Mandanda plays his football next season. Should the new manager want to keep hold of the 29-year-old, then Arsenal will face a fight to sign him.
