A player that has been repeatedly linked with Arsenal, even during his time at Chelsea, is Salomon Kalou. This window was no different as the Gunners made an approach to grab him on loan. Lille blocked the move as they could not replace the Ivorian on such short notice- leaving Arsenal empty handed once again. The problem here was that Arsenal made a move very late on, after they missed out on other targets. However they didn't need to wait so long and their reluctance could cost them between now and May. After being followed by the club for years they knew exactly what they'd be getting. If they didn't think it was worth it until last minute, why are they constantly linked to the player? The fact here is that Arsenal would've got their man if they made a move earlier on- rather than wait until deadline day.
