He might have struggled in the Premier League when he was at Sunderland, with just 14 goals in 110 games (10 of which came in the Championship), but Murphy has been a massive player in Ipswich's unlikely rise up the table this year thanks to an impressive haul of 18 goals. He's 31 and again he wouldn't be a long-term option, but he's in the kind of form that could translate perfectly to a strong end of the season in the Premier League and his age would at least be an advantage when it came to working out a price.
