Who else? With 260 goals in 434 appearances, Alan Shearer is the Premier League's all time leading goalscorer (and by a large margin - Andy Cole is second with 187 goals in 408 appearances, which is 73 goals less than Shearer). Having won the Premier League title with Blackburn Rovers in the 1994-95 season, Shearer moved to Newcastle United (the team he grew up supporting) a year later, following his top scoring performance for England in the 1996 European Championships, for a then world record transfer fee of £15 million. Sadly for the Geordie hitman, he would never win any more major honours, as Newcastle's best performance with Shearer would be runners-up in the league, and he would end his career there. He did, however, earn top scorer status in the Premier League on numerous occasions and is, without a doubt, the best English striker the Premier League has ever seen.
