While Celtic still enjoy their unbeaten run and extend their clean sheet record, a significant development within training could potentially be starting to flourish, and that is the partnership of Leigh Griffiths and Anthony Stokes. In the recent 3-0 home win over St Johnstone, Griffiths made his first start in a Celtic shirt. Despite not scoring (he had a goal wrongly disallowed), he showed us reasons other than his finishing that he could offer our team, and that is a strong partnership with Stokes. Stokes managed to bag a hat-trick, which many Celtic fans were delighted about as he had not being playing well at all in games previous, rarely scoring and often looking stuck for creative ideas in his attacking game. And I believe the reason was Griffiths - he and Leigh just clicked right away. Some of the link up play between the two strikers was reminiscent of when Hooper was in his early days at the club. Stokes had also joined at the start of the same season, and they both quickly formed a strong partnership that was, at times, deadly. A 9-0 thrashing of Aberdeen at home sticks in the memory; they were faultless, both grabbing a hat-trick each which could not have been done without the service provided to each other. So, in the hope that the recent game against St Johnstone has sparked a wonderful front partnership in the making, here's the four key reasons why Griffiths and Stokes can hit it off big time.
