Celtics green-and-white hooped strip is recognized around the world, and can be seen almost anywhere one may travel. Despite playing in a country of only 6 million people, I can talk to people at my college in Florida in the United States (a state of over 12 million people, to put it in perspective) and they have heard of Celtic. I believe that the distinct strip helps, as does the FIFA video game franchise, but I believe there is more to the story than just that. Perhaps it is because of the diversity of players that Celtic has signed in recent years. Shunsuke Nakamura joined the club in 2005, at the peak of his playing career, and boosted estimations of Celtic supporters in Japan to almost 7 million fans. Similarly, signings of Ki Sung-Yueng, Emilio Izaguirre, and Victor Wanyama, have increased Celtics profile in South Korea, Honduras, and Kenya, respectively. Finally, it might be because of the massive amount of ex-pats living in North America that contributes to Celtics global recognition. There are more than 60 Celtic supporters clubs in North America that are well-attended (I know from experience). Therefore, while Manchester United and Chelsea enjoy many casual fans in the U.S., Celtic has a very loyal group of supporters who watch week-in-and-week-out, which would only boost the already great profile of the EPL in the U.S.That leads very nicely into the next point
