Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech is a surprise January target for Barcelona, according to the Metro. The Catalan club are resigned to the fact that they are going to lose No.1 Victor Valdes, who is out of contract at the end of the season and has already admitted he is ready to leave. And Barcelona publication El Mundo Deportivo have recently linked Cech with a move to the Spanish Champions as Valdes's replacement. Even more intriguingly, the same publication also suggested the Spain shot-stopper is set to head the other way and move to Stamford Bridge. Should these rumours prove accurate, we could be looking at a fascinating swap deal in January. Valdes is a proven winner at the highest levels of the game, having won six La Liga titles, three Champions League trophies and the European Championship with Spain. And if Chelsea lose Cech, there are few better replacements.
