England face Denmark in Wednesday's friendly encounter. It is the last England game before the close of the season, with just three more friendlies, against Peru, Ecuador and Honduras, to be played in the two weeks before their World Cup campaign kicks off against Italy in the Arena Amazonia in Manaus. Realistically, then, by those three final friendlies, manager Roy Hodgson should have settled on a World Cup squad and have a pretty good idea of his starting eleven. Those three games and the per-tournament training camps are for making the final tweaks and getting the players used to training and playing alongside each other. That means that the Denmark game is the last chance that Hodgson has to experiment. He has promised to rest some key players and give some of the fringe options a chance to fight their way into the squad. Hopefully he stands by that and gives a full 90 minutes to these 6 players who could prove useful come June. Unfortunately for the likes of Sunderland's in form winger Adam Johnson or Hull's reliable defender Curtis Davies, their performances this season have not been enough to earn a place in the 30 man squad for Wednesday's game. Could this mean that they are certain to play no part in the World Cup itself? Let us know in the comments below, along with any other suggestions of fringe players who deserve their chance.
