To put it simply, Everton dont have much. In fact, like many Premier League clubs, they are very much in debt. Unlike the ManchesterCitys or Chelseas who can soak up their losses thanks to their owners seemingly limitless trouser pockets, Everton just do not have this financial backing. David Moyes contract is up in the summer and he has yet to commit to a new deal at Goodison, and frankly, his fantastic reputation and achievements mean he could almost undoubtedly demand a better contract than Everton can offer him. Everton First Team Coach, Alan Stubbs has recently claimed Moyes needs assurances from the club on budget and the squad, rather than his own personal salary. This is understandable with Everton possessing a number of top players like Leighton Baines and Marouane Fellaini, who are regularly linked with moves away. It is worth pointing out that football is an incredibly fickle game and while Moyes could move to another Premier League club or even abroad to claim a better salary, its unlikely he would receive anything like the kind of freedom and job security he currently enjoys.
