In the 70th minute, a Claude Makelele cross from the right found the chest of Frank Lampard, and the midfielder swivelled, David Platt like, and volleyed the ball past a helpless Oliver Kahn. Chelsea ended up winning the game 4-2 and eventually went through, despite a 3-2 loss in the second leg. Lampard has never scored another goal like it, the technique on the chest down was mesmerising and the volley was from the very top draw.
