When a manager approaches games against the top sides with the attitude of 'getting them out of the way' you know something is wrong. Talking to the BBC after the Liverpool defeat he said Fulham needed to pick up the points against lesser sides. If that is the way he talks to his players before/during/after games then is it any wonder Fulham are producing such insipid fare? The intensity which was once a hallmark of any Fulham side has been markedly absent of late, and Jol must find a way out of this rut. Despite the woes, Fulham remain only four points short of the top ten finish earmarked as a target for the season. Surely though, a manager in possession of more ball-players than grafters must at least go out with a 'we'll score more than you' determination. Instead, Jol speaks like a man merely fulfilling his media duties, well aware that the hammer could be about to fall.
