Club: Arsenal Another player currently taking up column inches thanks to his apparent desire to leave Arsenal - or at least his unwillingness to sign a new contract at the present time - Walcott would be a completely different prospect to that offered by Bent, but his mobility and pace should make him a major contender on Rodgers' shopping list, if it turns out the former Southampton man is dead-set on leaving the Emirates. If, as has been well-publicised, Walcott does want to play through the middle, he might find Rodgers a more willing manager than Arsene Wenger, as the Northern Irishman could benefit from someone of his pace and willingness to run at defenders, in the same way he did from Scott Sinclair's progressive play at Swansea. Whether or not Walcott would provide the kind of goal return Liverpool need at the minute remains to be seen, but he would certainly help change the dynamic of the team, and would bring one thing that Craig Bellamy's occasional successes in the Premier League proved top-flight defenders do not like - pace.
