Contender for man of the match in the final after his extraordinary extra time double-save thwarted Andriy Shevchenko - a heroic action which was later voted the greatest ever Champions League moment in a UEFA poll.

After a fantastic six season spell at Anfield, Dudek left for Real Madrid and acted as Iker Casillas€™ understudy for four years before retiring in 2011.

The now 41-year-old worked tirelessly in an ambassadorial role in bringing the European Championships to his native Poland in 2012.
