Stefan Savic was billed as one of the most promising young defenders in Europe upon arrival to the Premier League, but failed to live up to the expectations. His defensive work was often clumsy and fans began to lose patience with the 22-year-old, seeing him as a weak link in the Citizen's defence when he played. He made a total of 20 appearances during his time in Manchester, playing his final match in City's Community Shield victory over Chelsea. After failing to make a positive impression in the Premier League, Savic was sold to Italian side Fiorentina as part of an exchange deal involving Matija Nastasic.
