Man City Transfers: Predicting Manuel Pellegrini's 5 August Signings

2. Arjen Robben

With winger Samir Nasri facing an uncertain future at the club having endured an indifferent season in 2012/13, coupled with the fact Scott Sinclair appears to be deemed surplus to requirements, Pellegrini could be in the market for another wideman this summer. The Chilean boss has just recently purchased Jesus Navas from Sevilla and also has David Silva but could bolster his attacking options even further by adding Arjen Robben. The Bayern Munich man has just enjoyed a terrific season, winning four trophies with the German outfit, including the Bundesliga and Champions League. But the 29-year-old could become a shock casualty of the Pep Gurdiola regime at the Alianz Arena with the former Barca boss prepared to sell the ex-Chelsea man. And that'd mean a return to England for Robben, who scored 15 Premier League goals during his three seasons at Stamford Bridge between 2004-07. The winger/striker could be up for a fresh challenge having won everything there is to win in Germany and has unfinished business with English football having failed to really impress with Chelsea.
