Against Everton, David Moyes got his team selection badly wrong. His hand was forced in a number of areas due to injuries, such as that sustained to talisman Robin van Persie, but in other situations he could have done a lot better. Such as opting to play Ryan Giggs from first whistle to last, and Danny Welbeck over the more accurate Javier Hernandez. Giggs has come in for huge praise recently, having celebrated his 40th birthday at the end of last month, but those evergreen qualities many speak of were rarely seen last night, and aside from glancing a Rafael cross wide of the target, the Welshman rarely did much else. Then there's Welbeck - guilty of missing a header from five yards out - his effort cannoned off the crossbar - you wonder if the more lethal Hernandez might have gobbled that up - that really would have put a different complexion on this match, yet Moyes bafflingly continues to leave the Mexican out of the side.
