Another former player who could take the managerial reigns at Manchester United is Ryan Giggs. The Welshman is in the process of getting his coaching qualifications and signed on as player-coach this season alongside former teammate Phil Neville, currently working as first-team coach. Could the duo forge (what looks like on paper, at least) a dream combination and take charge at Old Trafford? Giggs in particular has been given public backing by Sir Alex Ferguson to go on to become a top manager, and like the aforementioned Solskjaer bleeds United, having spent his entire career at the club, and would clearly have their best interests at heart. Giggs has never had top-level managerial experience however, but with Neville working alongside him, the duo could bring stability to the club.
