3. Passing Style And Quality Leaves Something To Be Desired
It's unusual to see Man Utd be so lacking when it comes to passing quality, but that's the way it is this season. The Red Devils have managed only 54.3% per game, which leaves them well down the table for that stat in ninth place with Swansea leading the way as they often do. In terms of accuracy of passing the story isn't much different with 83% which leaves them down in seventh place. I know some people don't buy into positive passing stats behind a mark of a good team, but considering United are struggling it seems logical to draw this conclusion as a possible contributing factor. The stats also support the theory that Moyes is adjusting the style in which United play the ball by looking at the short and long passing numbers. The team certainly seem to be playing less short balls than they did under Ferguson with 426 played per game, which leaves the team ninth in the table. It's a stat that Swansea again lead the way with after playing 539 short passes per game, United also are playing 64 long balls per game which is the ninth highest in the league.
