Man Utd Transfer News: Cesc Fabregas Not For Sale - "At Any Price"
BBC. United have had two bids for the 26-year-old rejected, having made an an opening offer of £25 million on July 15 and an improved £30 million bid earlier this week. Manager David Moyes said at a press conference in Japan on Thursday that a potential move for Fabregas was "ongoing" with ESPN reporting the Scotsman was preparing a THIRD bid. However, Bartomeu has told the Premier League champions not to bother, stating:
"United's interest for Cesc Fabregas is obvious, he's a great player but it does not bother us. "It does not matter what they offer us, we are not selling him."Earlier today, we reported that Fabregas wanted a move to Old Trafford and confided in close friends that he was set to call time on his two year stay with Barcelona. However, those hopes now appear doomed with the Spanish champions unwilling to listen to any offers at all for the former Arsenal captain. Bartomeu continued: "If there was a higher offer would we accept it? No. We're proud that a club like that wants one of our players." Fabregas joined Barcelona in 2011 following eight years in North London, and is a product of the Spanish giant's famed youth academy La Maisa. He arrived at Arsenal as an unbridled 16-year-old but developed into a future club captain, succeeding from William Gallas in November 2008. He would go on to make 303 appearances under Arsene Wenger, scoring 57 times and providing 100 assists. He won the FA Cup with the club in 2005, following the Gunner's penalty shootout victory over United. That would be the last time Arsenal would win a trophy. Fabregas won La Liga with Barcelona in 2012/13.
