Man Utd Transfer News: United Prepare Summer Move For Ronaldo

By Alex Peace /

The Sun are reporting this morning that Man Utd are preparing a move to lure Ronaldo back to Old Trafford. That report states that Manchester United met with Nike this week, in order to plot a mega bid for their former Portuguese winger. This could spell that they are serious about getting Ronaldo back to the Premier League, but the huge fee could be a sticking point. Manchester United don€™t have the financial power they did ten years ago and the quoted £65 million could be a step too far. However if reports from the Mirror earlier in the week are to be believed, despite Fergie€™s denial, Rooney could be out the door for as much as £35 million, which could make some funds available for a potential deal for Ronaldo. The report goes on to say Nani could also be sent the other way, which could help tempt Real in to doing business with the team they knocked out of the Champions League this week. With the power of Nike possibly on their side in this deal, wanting to get the superstar back in a kit bearing their logo and potentially money from any deal for Wayne Rooney, a deal for Ronaldo could be a lot closer than most people felt in recent weeks. A Champions League victory could even leave Ronaldo to concede he has achieved all he can at Madrid. Do you think Man U have any chance of signing Ronaldo? Would it be a good move for Ronaldo? Thoughts welcome below.
