Lars Bender is another player who can bring a steady presence to whichever club he plays for, offering all of the defensive capabilities required to protect his back line. Utilised for Bayer Leverkusen in that role, the twin brother of Borussia Dortmund's Sven Bender is enhancing his reputation across Europe for the excellent job he is capable of in the centre of the park. Proven both in the Champions League and at international level, Bender would be a perfect fit for United as he would have the chance to bed in to English football without the distractions of European football for the first season. Whilst this may be a negative for any player looking to join the ranks at Old Trafford, Bender would have plenty of opportunity to prove himself in Europe in the years to come as he is still only 25-years-old. Arsenal are thought to be in the box seat for his signature, but with the Gunners and United in need of the same type of midfielder this summer, the two Premier League rivals will likely find themselves going head to head in most of their transfer dealings.
