Manchester United finally have the world-class attacking midfielder they have long-needed in Juan Mata but that does not plug all of the holes at Old Trafford. United also need a new, quality left-back with Patrice Evra set to leave the club at the end of the season when his contract expires this summer. With Fabio joining Cardiff City in a permanent deal, the need to bring in a new left-sided fullback is all the more apparent, and David Moyes has been scouting Filipe Luis. Currently of Atletico Madrid, Luis is an attacking left-back and considered one of the world's best in his position, helping his side up to second in La Liga at present, level with Barcelona. The 28-year-old has proven himself at Deportivo La Coruña and Atletico and, while Luke Shaw is another popular option for left-back, Luis is more the finished article. The Brazilian is similar to Evra in that he is not afraid to contribute to the attack as a wing-back and track back to defend, and in those regards would seem like the Frenchman's natural successor.
