When Sir Alex Ferguson was at the helm we all knew what we were getting with Man Utd. Its probably fair to say that most players in world football had some idea as well, but the climate has certainly changed under David Moyes. During the summer, they went after many big stars but in the end their recruitment was a big failure. The pressure is certainly going to be high to ensure the same thing does not happen in this window. For the first time in a long time, a lot of people feel that Man Utd have something to prove in the transfer market, and as they are well off the pace in the league; they certainly need something to give everyone a boost. Many people might question the idea that one top signing can make all the difference, and with the situation the club finds itself in this season; its unlikely that this will actually be the case. However, we saw when Arsenal secured the signing of Mesut Ozil what a difference one player can make. Clearly, Ozil is not the only reason that the Gunners are top of the league but he has arguably been the catalyst, and Man Utd would certainly be looking for something similar to that.
