Southampton have a huge battle on their hands if they are to hang on to their prized assets over the summer with a number of top Premier League clubs circling the waters for their top stars. United have already heavily been linked with Saints left-back Luke Shaw and another person of interest is right-back Nathaniel Clyne, with the England U-21 international emerging as an exciting talent in recent seasons, helping Mauricio Pochettino's men to an eight-placed finish last season. And the 23-year-old was one on United's radar when, in 2012, the defender held talks with Sir Alex Ferguson about a move to Old Trafford, only to then join Southampton instead believing he would get more frequent playing time. Since then Clyne has emerged as one of Southampton's stand-out performers and with a number of clubs, including Arsenal, keen to take him away from St Mary's this summer, it will be interesting to see if we renew our interest over the following months.
