The Italian has reportedly been on Sir Alex Ferguson's radar since 2010 and the Red Devils supposedly had a bid for the Juventus midfielder knocked back recently. After failing to land the player three years ago, Ferguson turned his attentions to the likes of Wesley Sneijder, Samir Nasri and Eden Hazard, all of whom snubbed Old Trafford for other clubs. That has led the veteran manager back to Marchisio, and there is little doubt that he would add much needed steel to United's midfield. The tough-tackling box-to-box midfielder is well versed with Italian football and the defensive duties that comes with it and could well become the next Roy Keane. Marchisio is also a goal-scoring midfielder and has found the back of the net 7 times this season, while he has also provided the same number of assists.
