After slowly settling into the Borussia Dortmund team two years ago the German international midfielder flourished during Jürgen Klopps sides run to the Champions League final last season. Not a great creator of goals or scorer of them himself, İlkay Gündoan offers great passing in the midfield as well as protection of his defence. Hell chip in with the odd contribution in front of goal, but Gündoan around the centre circle and outside the penalty area helps in retaining possession in the opposition half.
