One does not buy Bastian Schweinsteiger and keep Michael Carrick. It's lunacy and constantly rotating the pair is counter-productive to both midfielders. The England international has been a loyal servant at Old Trafford and will be looked upon fondly by the Manchester United fans but he no longer has the ability to control games like he used to. If Louis van Gaal wants to move forward and establish Man United as a real force again then players like Carrick need to be moved on and the Dutch manager needs to trust his new midfield recruits.
