Quite possibly the most bizarre transfer deal in footballing history. Victor Valdes signed for Manchester United in October 2014 and has made just two appearances for the club. The signing seemed strange as David de Gea was performing extremely well and Valdes didn't appear to be a goalkeeper who would be willing to be someone's understudy. Then, Real Madrid's interest in the Red Devils' No.1 intensified and it became apparent that he was set to leave in the summer. Presumably Valdes would be the instant replacement for the 24-year-old right? Wrong. The Spanish goalkeeper is now playing second fiddle to Sergio Romero who Man United signed on a free transfer. With De Gea now staying at Manchester United, it seems Valdes who has six La Liga championships and three Champions League medals is now the number three choice?
