Club: Everton Michael Carrick has arguably had his finest season at United since he joined from Spurs, but with Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes surely coming to the end of their careers at Old Trafford, and question marks remaining over the fitness of Darren Fletcher, United might look quite lightweight in central midfield next season. Right now they could do with a defensive midfielder - as evidenced by Sir Alex's decision to push Phil Jones into midfield to cope with Gareth Bale against Spurs (something he might repeat with Real Madrid), but they would do well to consider a move for a more complete midfielder. The weekend saw news that Fellaini had told interested suitors to put their money where their mouth is if they want to sign him, and Sir Alex should take the advice. The Belgian has been a revelation so far this season, as Sir Alex will remember from the first day of the season, and he was singled out for the man-marking treatment this weekend by United, so the boss clearly knows his worth. Fellaini would be the perfect answer to United's need for a complete midfielder, and at such a young age, he could potentially enjoy his five year peak at one of the greatest teams in the world.
