8. Stefano Okaka (Sampdoria)

Newcastle United continue to scour the market for a new striker to add to their squad €“ and Sampdoria forward Stefano Okaka is the latest name linked with a move to St James€™ Park. The 25-year-old spent the 2010-11 season on loan at Fulham from Roma and netted twice in 11 Premier League appearances. Despite being a regular in the Sampdoria starting line-up, the Serie A side are willing to offload the forward due to the fact he has just a yet left on his contract, according to Gazzetta TV and Forza Italian Football. The 6ft 1in forward is big, powerful and has been capped one by Italy €“ and he netted during his only appearances for the Azzurri. Promoted side Watford reportedly made a move for Okaka last month, only for the 25-year-old to reject the Hornets €“ who managed just four goals in 32 appearances last season. Okaka has had somewhat of a chequered career to date, having spent time at nine clubs €“ but only permanently at Roma, Parma and Sampdoria. However, the forward has also been on loan at a variety of clubs around Europe €“ including Modena, Brescia, Fulham, Bari, Parma and Spezia €“ but Tyneside could become his next destination.
