Florian Thauvin marked his Newcastle United debut with a goal after just three minutes, the Frenchman acrobatically volleying home after a Massadio Haidara cross found him in the box. Moments later Thauvin's dream-start got even better as the 22-year-old's free-kick found Siem de Jong's head who put the ball past Ryan Clarke. A goal and three assists showed the new lad's quality and he demonstrated excellent dribbling, passing, crossing and set-piece attributes as well as handling himself well physically.
