Newcastle United Transfers: 5 Alternative Players Pardew Must Sign
Don't be too surprised if their names are bandied about should the Toon fail to land the likes of Mathieu Debuchy from Lille, or Douglas from FC Twente.
As Newcastle United seems to reach an impasse on almost every transfer deal they've been in the middle of this summer; I think it's time to take a look at alternative targets that The Magpies could turn to in the event of the club failing in their attempts to lure their #1 targets. Some of the following players have been linked with NUFC in the past, and are still likely to be on Alan Pardew's shortlist, so don't be too surprised if their names are bandied about should the Toon fail to land the likes of Mathieu Debuchy from Lille, or Douglas from FC Twente.

1. Willy Boly
I can assure you that this players name is indeed real. Cruel, but real. Boly (above, right), currently with Auxerre, is a CB by trade however, he has been known to fill in at RB from time to time. With Brazilian born Douglas confusing everyone as to where his future lies; Boly is a player Alan Pardew would be wise to take a look at. He's a physical presence, and a very smart footballer, a perfect combination for the Premier League. He is 21 years-old and with that, fits Pardew's blueprint perfectly - he also has a sell on value should he perform well enough to merit a move to a bigger club. He is French as well - Mike Ashley, keep reading. I'm not exactly sure how much it would take to prise this guy away from Auxerre, but I can only guess a bid in the region of 5m would definitely have his club's hierarchy sit-up and talking. If Newcastle do happen to miss out on Douglas, I think Willy Boly is definitely worth a look.
