Potentially a harsh addition to the list, but academy graduate Peter Ramage somehow managed to make 51 Premier League appearances for the Magpies.

Average at best, Ramage was a stereotypical "versatile defender" - in terms of the fact he could play anywhere across the back four, although none of those positions particularly effectively.

Always willing to give his all, it certainly wasn't application Ramage lacked - just out-and-out skill really...
