The club have been known in recent years for having a very English core, which has served them and the national team well, but that tradition seems to have run its course - a notion epitomised by the fact that there are no Spurs players in the England World Cup squad (as opposed to the five they had in the 2010 squad). Therefore, they really could do with bringing in some young English talent and Will Hughes fits the bill. His style of play also fits Spurs brilliantly - he is a creative, attacking flair player who provides the link between the midfield and the strikers and he has been one of Derby County's star players in a season that could culminate in their promotion to the Premier League via the play-offs. Hughes has been courted by a number of Premier League teams, including Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester United, and Spurs should join that group of admirers as he could be a big player both domestically and internationally in the future.
