Out of all the talented players on this list, I truly believe that the purchase of Christian Eriksen is the best, in terms of who he was linked with and what he could become (Man United and Liverpool and possibly 'the next Paul Scholes'), the results and contribution over the long term (at 21, he has a lot of years ahead of him) and more importantly due the price needed to bring him from Ajax- a mere £11 million. Scoring a cool 32 goals and assisting 54 more during his three year spell at Ajax, it was no surprise that Europe's top clubs had him on their radar as a future star, it was just a shame that David Moyes (and other managers, for that matter) didn't bid for him this summer for he could've added so much to their cause. But it wasn't to be and he finds himself at Spurs and Villas Boas will be sure to take care of him and continue his development as a footballer, as he tries to adapt to the rigours of English football. Having impressed on the international scene with Denmark and been to Euro 2012 with them, he won't be overawed by the big stage and will continue to play his natural game. In addition, his natural position in the 'hole' behind Soldado won't be under too much threat, as others that have played this season primarily play in other positions, so I think Eriksen will have a good extended run in the team, possibly starting with Norwich at home, a week on Saturday.
