Arsenal currently have three players in the top 12 assist makers in the Premier League - Podolski, Santi Cazorla and Theo Walcott. They are the reason Olivier Giroud has been doing so well recently, and stopping their killer final balls will be key to blunting Arsenal's attack. It's easier said than done of course, it means anticipation and strict positional fidelity, but Sunderland's defence hasn't been as leaky as their league position might suggest. They have discipline, and they will need it in order to cut the supply line from midfield through to attack. And the answer of course is pressing - at this stage of the season players should be fit enough not to flag in 90 minutes of football, and Sunderland have the advantage of not having as many players returning from international duty. There is no excuse to stop running against Arsenal, and that will be key to cutting out the space and time the three assist leaders have to pick out the balls that count.
