Swansea City: 5 Options To Be The Swans' Next Permanent Manager

By James Kent /

3. Glenn Hoddle (Unemployed)

Glenn Hoddle again has something different to bring to the table, but the concern is that he has been out of this game to large extent since his last managerial job in 2006. That being said, a lot of people felt that he was a very talented manager at the time, but maybe some of his ideas were a little ahead of his time. For instance, back when he was managing, 4-4-2 was probably the most common formation used by English teams. Those days are now behind us, and his tactical knowledge and innovation could be perfect for modern-day football. This could well be a reason why Swansea are looking at him as potentially their next manager. Prior to his last job with Wolves, he has also managed Swindon, Chelsea, England, Southampton and Spurs. One does wonder though why he has been out of the game for so long, but it€™s interesting that he is now being linked with jobs again. It maybe that he has gone away to get more ideas on coaching and management and now feels ready to give it another crack. If he fancies doing just that, then Swansea could be the perfect vehicle for him and is seen as a 16/1 shot.
