UFC: 5 Reasons Daniel Cormier Is A Threat To Jon Jones

By Jay Anderson /

2. Ignore The Body Type - He Has Cardio

You wouldn't know it to look at him, especially between training camps, or back in his heavyweight days, but Daniel Cormier does have solid cario. He has gone the distance multiple times in his career, including in fights against Roy Nelson (the only way to beat Big Country is via decision), Dan Henderson, Frank Mir, and a five round fight against Josh Barnett in Strikeforce to win the heavyweight tournament and title there. In other words, if need be, he should be able to make it five rounds with Jones. Glover didn't have that, not that it mattered. Rampage seemed to tire at the end of his fight with Jones. And most of Jones opponents other than Rashad Evans and Alexander Gustafsson haven't made it that far. Besides, name me an Olympic calibre wrestler who doesn't have good cardio. Oh, and by the way, he trains with a total cardio freak - heavyweight champ Cain Velasquez.
