Fabricio Werdum was sent packing from the UFC by Junior Dos Santos in 2008. A vicious uppercut sealed the deal. He then went to Strikeforce, turned things around, and came back to the UFC better than ever before. He went three full rounds with Roy Nelson in a fantastic, brutal fight. He made short work of Mike Russow and Big Nog. Oh, and while in Strikeforce he became the first man to defeat the Last Emperor. That's a pretty impressive improvement. The best was yet to come however. Against Travis Browne in April, Werdum displayed improved striking, and a fight IQ in the cage better than any fighter save perhaps Cain Velasquez himself. He picked Browne apart, but executed a perfect game plan as well - it wasn't simply an easy win, it was a well-earned one. He wisely chose not to punch himself out, stayed out of danger, but didn't run away, either, pressing the action and making a fighter (Browne) many felt was a title contender look ordinary. Hunt will have his work cut out for him with that in mind.
