The most balanced squad travelling to Brazil this summer is probably Germany. Most teams aim for a spine of players to form a team around but I honestly cannot find a weak link in the German starting 11. Very few teams internationally can boast such a balance of Strength (Mertesacker, Hummels, Schweinsteiger), Technique/Composure (Lahm, Khedira, Gomez), Speed (Reus, Schurrle, Draxler) and Creativity (Ozil, Gotze, Muller). Each of those player examples fall into at least 3 of those categories anyway! The 2010 risk of using a moderately under experienced squad is now paying off. German football has transformed and dominated world football over the last couple of years and I feel that the World Cup trophy would be nothing less than they deserve for the development of an incredibly organised and talented squad.
