10. Excelsior - Star Trek VI

The arrival of the USS Excelsior at the Battle of Khitomer is a moment that stands out in an already fantastic film. Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country offers some of the best on-screen battles to that point in the franchise, along with some of the most urgent dialogue as long. The race from the Alpha Quadrant to the Beta Quadrant is on, and for a time it looks as though Captain Sulu won't make it.

While the Enterprise-A is taking heavy damage from Chang's Bird of Prey, Sulu pushes his ship as hard as he can. His helmsman warns that the Excelsior will fly apart if they go any faster, to which Sulu barks:

Fly her apart then!

The ship does however arrive in time to become a new target for the Klingons, proceeding to take a direct torpedo hit to the saucer section. However, this does buy Spock and McCoy time to alter a torpedo of their own, rewiring it so it can hone in on the Klingon's plasma exhaust.

Once it strikes, both ships, the Enterprise-A and the Excelsior, begin to open fire on the Bird of Prey, sending volleys of torpedoes at them, before the infamous ship explosion fills the screen. It may have been late to the party, but the Excelsior absolutely smashed down the doors as it arrived.
