For whatever reason, people can't seem to get enough of Inspector Gadget. One of the first syndicated cartoons in history, the 80s classic went on to air successful reruns decades after being cancelled. You may also remember the Matthew Broderick movie in 1999 that was a decent box office success despite generally negative reviews from both critics and viewers. The show was about a dimwitted detective who just happened to be a cyborg. His entire body was comprised of various tools and, you guessed it, gadgets that allowed him to fight crime alongside his niece Penny and Brain, his dog. WHY WE WANT IT BACK It's already been 15 years since the release of the live action movie, and various spin offs and direct-to-DVD movies have come out in the past decade to little success. Since 2012, Teletoon Canada has announced updates for a possible remake that was supposed to air in 2013, but the show has not been commented on since, making it unlikely that they have decided to finish developing it.
