Initially taking place in the 60's, the presentation of the Salad Mixxxer becomes ridiculous really fast when the presenter... pulls out... his tool... and displays it to the ladies. Yes, the puns are also abundant here, but the humor again comes from the fact that the presenter is completely oblivious of the phallic nature of his product. It then gets hilarious, as the three ladies chosen for the presentation bring about their sexual frustration in an obviously subtle exchange. Never would a kitchen item have made them happier. Decades pass and the presenter still thinks he's selling kitchen items, but then the short becomes obscenely unsubtle in contemporary times. For a one-vibrator-joke sketch that stretches to 11 minutes, The Salad Mixxxer is surprisingly funny and non-repetitive. But if you want a... deeper... meaning, you only have to think of how American prudery was abolished by the 60's sexual revolution and how overt sexuality has become today's standard.
