With Walter and Jesse pretty much on top at this point, it was inevitable that things could only go downhill. Both Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul remain on form throughout as they deal with the consequences of running their own meth operation, before things start to spiral out of control for the pair.

With the DEA finally onto them, along with a betrayal by a group of neo-nazis, Walt's world crumbles in the lead-up to possibly the greatest episode in the show, Ozymandias. With one of the most heart-wrenching deaths in the show, things only get worse from there, as Walt realises how much damage his actions have caused to those around him and himself. It makes his whole story a tragedy, and remains one of the greatest finales ever.
